Functionalities

Accepts Placetopay and Prestashop payments

In this guide, the installation of the Placetopay plugin for Prestashop will be explained step by step.

Each configuration parameter described in this guide will be performed in a test environment in order to illustrate its configuration in detail.

1. To use Placetopay, you must have an active account.

   • If you don’t have one yet, contact us

2. Download our plugin to integrate it with the PrestaShop platform.

   • Get the latest version to prestashop 8.x.x here
   • Get the latest version to prestashop 1.7.x here
   • Access previous versions from the right pane.

3. To get started, log in to your PrestaShop account.

4. In the left side menu, go to the ‘Modules’ option. When you click on it, two additional options will be displayed, and you will have to select ‘Module Catalog’.

5. Once in this view, you will find at the top a button that says ‘Upload module’. Click on it.

6. A modal will open where you can drag the plugin or browse for the plugin file you recently downloaded. Be sure to upload the file exactly as it is, compressed in ZIP format.

7. Once the installation is complete, select the ‘International’ option in the left side menu and enter the ‘Location’ option..

8. Select the ‘Default Country’ option and set the country corresponding to your store.

9. After, you can click on the ‘Configure’ button or go to the left side menu and look for the ‘Customize’ section. Then look for the ‘Modules’ option and click on it. Two options will be displayed, and you should select ‘Module Manager’.

10. Once in the Module Manager, you should see the Placetopay plugin. There you will see a button that says Update with an arrow next to it. When you click on the arrow, more options will be displayed. Click on the ‘Configure’ option.

11. Once in the configuration, scroll down until you find the ‘Connection settings’ option, where we will configure our plugin as follows:

    a. I am integrated with: Select the ‘Placetopay’ option.

    b. In mode: Select the option ‘Production’.

    c. Login: Enter the data that has been emailed to you.

    d. TransKey: Enter the data that has been sent to you by e-mail.

Finalize the configuration by clicking on ‘Save’.

The rest of the configuration is customizable and will depend exclusively on the specific needs of your business.

Order statuses in Prestashop

In Prestashop we can have different states for an order. Below are the possible states of the order with the plugin:

Pending payment: is waiting for payment to be made. It automatically goes to Completed or Processing status depending on the case.

Completed: the payment has been successfully completed.

Processing: transaction review process for both single payment (cash and transfer) and payment with authorization.

Refunded: performs the refund and updates the store’s stock with the returned products.

Failed: the transaction could not be completed either due to insufficient funds or erroneous data.
